Club Ride Saturday 28th March 2015

Weather forecast for late morning is for heavy rain so I’m going to keep the route a little flexible to give us some options if it turns nasty;

Depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst at 0900, please aim to be there for 0850

Route planned is:

Brockenhurst, Rhinefield Road, Ornamental Drive, Bolderwood, across Ocknells Plain (old airfield road), Roger Penney Way, Sandleheath, Alderholt, Harbridge, Linwood (optional cut back to Brock for a 65K ride), or carry on to Poulner, Crow, Braggers Lane, Burley, Brock for 73K and a few options if we want to make it longer

Target pace is 27K KPH / 17MPH so planned route would be 2 hours 40.

Regards

Club Ride - Shaftesbury Century 3rd April 2015

As has become tradition over the last few years Good Friday will be a century ride to Shaftesbury

This will also give riders time to recover if they’re racing on Sunday

Plan is depart from Brockenhurst at 0900 as usual
Call in at Ashurst Station at 0930 for anybody wishing to join there, if you start and finish at Ashurst the ride will be circa 85 miles
Out through Woodlands and The Ridge and pass though Nomansland around 1025
Then we’ll head out through Downton and onto Shaftsbury for lunch around 1245 or a little later if we stop for coffee and cake in Broad Chalke
That will be just over halfway and then back through Zig Zag Hill, Sixpenny Handley, Fordingbridge and back to Ashurst / Brock.

Bring money for lunch and two spare tubes as it will be a long day. Ride will be steady and probably around 16MPH average to reflect the longer distance.

Its called Shaftesbury 2012 as it’s the same route we’ve used before

Hope to see a good turnout
