Club Ride – Saturday 26th May

Forecast for this week is for a few showers so planning on keeping the plan a little bit flexible. Core ride will just be a 88Km loop around the forest with a coffee stop in Burley at 76Km. At that point we can make a plan for those wanting to ride long or decide to call it a day and go home to watch the Giro.
So meet at 0850 for an 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Out via Balmer Lawn to Hatchet Pond. Down for a loop around East Boldre and back to Beaulieu. Up to Lyndhurst, Emery Down, Minstead, Bolderwood, Red Shoot, Poulner, Crow, and onto the Cider Shop Café in Burley. Then either back to Brock or another loop for the mileage monsters.

Cameras

As we’re all aware road cycling has it’s dangers and also members of the public that do not share our passion and occasionally have a mis match between their opinion and the Highway Code. So, for our protection the committee have purchased a pair of cameras for use on club rides and chain gangs.
This will provide us with evidence if we ever have an accident with a vehicle and also if there are complaints about club rides evidence of how the group was riding.
I’ll ask one of you to take the rear camera each week.
As a welcome side benefit it will also provide us with evidence if we’re not riding in a good formation. So please keep the lines as straight as your cycle tan lines will be after this weekend or my next request to the committee will be to purchase a taser for anybody not keeping the line straight 😀
