NFCC Sunday club Ride (Off Road) 19th June

I will be leading an off road social club ride this Sunday 19th June.  We will be meeting in Brockenhurst at the usual meeting place at 8:50am for a 9am start.  The weather forecast for Sunday changes by the hour but I think that we can expect mixed weather with cooler temperatures than currently.  We'll stop for coffee and cake at the Cider Pantry in Burley, which will involve a short detour off the route.  The route will follow permitted gravel tracks plus tarmac roads to link the tracks.  Suitable bikes include gravel bikes and mountain bikes; we will ride at the pace of the slowest rider and will not leave anybody behind.  The route is quite fast and not at all technical.  The link is below and hopefully it works!  Any questions just ask me below.  See you on Sunday!

Club Ride - 11th June 2022

Back for the second year by popular demand, the NFCC D-Day Tour of the Airfields returns with a few improvements over the inaugural ride last year.

The plan for this year is to split the ride into two stages, both starting and finishing in Brock with checkpoints for riders to join/exit as they feel suitable.

This year's route will stick to the WWII airfields and locations within the forest boundary and avoid the sections on the busy roads from last year to get to Hurn Airport. Also excluded this year is the Marshalling Yard at Marchwood, again with safety in mind due to the roads around the location.

Everyone will be pleased to hear Chief Soigneur Julie Wootton will be handling supplies with mid and end-of-ride coffee stops planned at Chez Wootton in Brockenhurst, and it would be great if we can get an indication of numbers by responding to this event.

An up-to-date route and plan for timings etc. can be found on the club website: https://www.newforestcc.co.uk/dday/

Sunday Club Ride 5th June 2022

Meet as usual in Brookley rd car park at 8.50 for a 9.00 a.m start.

As it's a bank holiday weekend and likely to be busy we will stay in the quieter southern part of the forest for this weeks ride. In order to avoid any 'platty Jubes' celebrations in Beaulieu we'll make the Lepe loop first followed by the St Leonards one..

Route downloadable here: https://www.strava.com/routes/2863383207795741156

Finish at Setley Ridge for coffee and cake*

(*despite them serving me cold soup last Monday).

Forecast is uninspiring but I hope to see a great turnout.
