Club Ride 29th July 2023

Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Another slightly iffy forecast for a Saturday but this week the chances of showers and winds only score a 4 on the Phil Harris Misery Index which is two better than last week. Looks like some stiff winds and drizzle / light rain to contend with. So, plan this week is to keep it fairly local, but shorter than usual and make plans on the fly if anyone wants to go long in the afternoon.

Just a 108Km planned ride.

Route at:

https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2333400?units=km

Coffee stop planned for 58Km at Setley Ridge where a decision can be made on how much longer to ride depending on how the weather turns out.

Hoping the weather turns out better than for forecast and that Saturdays in August are better than the Saturdays in July.

Sunday Club Ride 23rd July 2023

Meet as usual in Brookley Rd car park at 8.50 for a 9.00A.M start
Route takes us out to the wild East this Sunday.
Forecast is o.k but I couldn't organise the tailwind home this week. Could be a bit brutal heading back from Hatchett Pond to Brock.
Vittles at Setley Ridge.

Club Ride 22nd July 2023

Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Another slightly iffy forecast for a Saturday but this week the chances of showers and winds only score a 6 on the Phil Harris Misery Index so we’re back on the road.

Plan this week is a lumpy 124KM ride to the east and north of the forest. Route can be found at: https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2325362?units=km

Coffee stop planned at 75Km at The Potting Shed in Hyde.

Hope to see a good turnout and a return to some of the fair-weather riders who have been missing the last two weeks!

Sunday Club Ride 16th July 2023.

Meet as usual in Brookley Rd car park at 8.50 for a 9.00 A.M start.
Route downloadable here : https://www.strava.com/routes/14884866
Forecast is for a pretty stiff wind and possibly wet. I have planned for a nice tailwind home but the start could be fairly brutal.
With Saturday's ride off-rd this week there may be higher than normal number of riders on Sunday. In which case please arrive early so we can get sorted into appropriate groups.
Ride finishes at everyone's favourite caf, Setley Ridge.
Hope to see another great turnout.

Club Ride 15th July 2023- OFF ROAD

Weather forecast this Saturday is for high winds that cross the threshold for safe peloton style riding so this week’s club ride will be off road. MTB, gravel, cross bikes all welcome and pace will be adjusted to suit whoever is riding and what machinery they are on.

Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Planned ride is 73Km but is subject to change depending on how the weather turns out and if there are any mapping errors. As with all club rides we will stick to the marked cycle paths or roads that interconnect the paths. Route has been kept local to give us flexibility if the weather turns to 11 on the Phil Harris Misery Index.

Route can be found here:

https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2317463?units=km

Planned coffee stop will be in Burley at around 56Km.

Hope the weather is better than the forecast.

Club Ride 8th July 2023

Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Big thank you to everybody for making the effort to be at the start in good time last week it really helped us get organised in good time.

Weather forecast this week is not brilliant, so the plan is to keep it local and keep the plan flexible in case conditions are better or worse than the forecast. Route is just 109Km with a coffee stop at Setley Ridge after 62Km. That will be a good point for any re-planning and making it a bit longer if that suits everybody.
