Club Ride Saturday 1st August

Most of the regular ride leaders appear to be either on holiday or doing Ride London this weekend (good luck to those that are).

So for those that are riding suggested plan is as follows:

Just over 100K with a target pace of 28KMH

Depart from the main car park in Brockenhurst opposite Tesco at 0900 so please aim to be at the start at 0850

Route will be out via the Burley Road, Setthorns, Sway, Pilley, East End, Sowley, Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu, Lepe, Blackfield, Debden Purlieu, Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst, Emery Down, Bolderwood, Burley and Brock

Club "A" ride Saturday 18th July

This weeks ride will be lead by Phil H

Start time and place will be at our usual spot in the car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst at 0900.

A ride is 63 miles at 18MPH with an option to add another 10 by making the return via Burley. Coffee stop will probably be after 45 miles in Beaulieu.

It’s basically a loop of the forest, Brockenhurst, Bolderwood, Moyles Court, Sandy Balls, Wood Green, Nomansland, Ashurst, Beaulieu, Bucklers Hard, Brock.

Club "A" Ride Saturday 4th July

This Saturdays ride will be the Easter weekend Shaftesbury ride I have shamelessly copied it from the email Barry sent out in April.

Depart will be from car park in Brookley Road Brockenhurst at 0900
Rendezvous with any other rides at Ashurst station 0930
The Lamb at Nomansland approx. 1030-1040

Probable coffee / cake stop at the community shop in Borad Chalke after 68K and lunch at pub or café in Shaftsbury after about 90K
Please bring a small lock if you have one in case we have to leave bikes outside of the cafe

That will be just over halfway

Bring money for lunch and two spare tubes as it will be a long day. Ride will be steady and probably around 16MPH average to reflect the longer distance.

Its called Shaftesbury 2012 as it’s the same route we’ve used before (more or less)

Neil knows of a slightly different route on the way back which would make a pleasant change, so we will probably defer to him after Zig zag hill and let him guide us.

Cheers Phil

Club "B" Ride Saturday 4th July

Please to announce the return of the “B” ride this week

Thanks Bill

Meet: 8:55 for 9:00 start at The Lamb, Nomansland

Route: New Road->Sherfield English->Whiteparish->West Dean->East Grimstead->Farley->Winterslow->West Tytherley->East Tytherley->Dunbridge->Awbridge->Old Salisbury Lane->Shootash->East Wellow->Furzley->Penn Common->Nomansland.

Here is an approximation in google maps - https://goo.gl/maps/cCuSG

About 37 miles, about 15mph average, with a few hills and a couple of options to cut short depending on who is there and how we are doing.

Regards,
Bill
