Club Ride Saturday 31st December

Slightly different ride for the last club ride of the year. Built in some flexibility for those looking for a shorter ride who can either join the first of second part.

Usual meet at the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst (behind Sainsbury’s) at 0850 for 0900 depart. Forecast is to warm up a little and no fog.

Out via Sway Road, Pitmore Lane, Pilley, East End, Sowley, Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu, Hill Top, Dibden Purlieu, Applemore, Ipley Cross, Beaulieu and back to Brock via Mill Lane. For anybody wishing to join for the second loop we should pass Brockenhurst station just before 1100 at just over the 50K mark.

Second loop up through Rhinefield, Bolderwood, Red Shoot, Poulner, Crow, Burley and back to Brock for a total of 95K.

Probably best opopportunity for coffee stop will be Burley on the second loop before riders start peeling off. If not finish at Rosie Lea’s in Setley Ridge as usual.

Looking for a nice easy winter pace of 25-26Kmh.

Club Ride Saturday 24th December

Slightly different plan to usual this week to accommodate those with family commitments and orders. So, this week we’ll split the ride into two halves and have coffee stop in the middle.

Part 1

Meet at 0850 for 0900 depart in the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.

Out via Balmer Lawn, Beaulieu, Ipley Cross, Ashurst, Woodlands, Bartley, Emery Down, Bolderwood and Brock. Then off to Rosie Lea’s at Setley Ridge (about a mile south of Brock on the A337 for coffee stop. If all goes to plan should be there just after 1100. That will be 55K.

Part 2, meet at Rosie Lea’s in Setley Ridge. Aim to leave around 1130 depending on then the first ride finishes

Back towards The Filly, then across Setthorns, Burley, Crow, Poulner, Ogdens, Fordingbridge, Alderholt, Harbridge, Red Shoot, Bolderwood and Brock. Part B 64K.

Club Ride – Saturday 17th December

Forecast fair and dry with little wind so hopefully pleasant for a December ride.

Plan for this weeks club ride as follows:

Meet at the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst at 0850 for 0900 depart.

Out via Hincheslea, Wilverley, Burley, Braggers, Crow, North Gorley, Stuckton. Return via Roger Penney Way, Ocknells Plain, Bolderwood and then the loop around Burley back to Brock where there will be Christmas cake, mulled wine and coffee at Oberfield Road, SO42 7QF.

Pace 25Km/h, route just under 80Km. It’s my first ride back so be gentle and don’t expect me to be back on the front!

Forecast for light rain Saturday. Hopefully will clear up a little before then. This week we’ll follow one of our well used routes to the east of the region.

Usual depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Meet at 0850 for 0900 depart.

Out via Sway Road, Pitmore Lane, Pilley, Norleywood, Sowley, Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu, Lepe, Exbury.

Return via Roman Road, Applemore, Ipley Cross, Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst, Emery Down, Bolderwood and Brock. Option for coffee stop back at Brockenhurst at with Setley Ridge or if quiet Rosie Lea’s in the village centre

Total distance just over 80K.
