Club Ride – 27th August 2016

This weeks club ride as follows:
Meet at 0850 for 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst (behind Sainsburys).
Bit shorter than the usual summer rides as tomorrow forecast for showers but opportunities to tag extra loops on for those that wish and option to miss out the Burley loop for those that want a slightly shorter (80K) ride. Plan for 92K, out via Burley Road, Setthorns, Pitmore Lane, Pilley, Norleywood, East End, Sowley, Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu, Colbury, Ashurst, Woodlands,  Newbridge, Furzey, Newbridge, Nomansland. Back via Ocknells Plain, Bolderwood and then either round the chain gang loop to Burley or direct to Brock.
No obvious mid ride coffee stop. So either Burley or Brock on the way back look like the best options.
Pace 27-28KMH depending on who’s riding.

Thursday night chain gang - 25th August

Club Ride - Saturday 20th August

Weather forecast tomorrow has 40-50MPH winds so not conducive to group riding. Therefore, reluctantly no club road ride tomorrow.

Plan B for Saturday. If anybody fancies a 3 hour (ish) MTB ride tomorrow instead I'd be happy to plan that. Wind won't be an issue on the trails and only a few light rain showers to endure. Nothing technical, will stick to the fire trails in the main as it's still peak tourist season. If you do post a reply and it'll probably be meet at usual time and place.

Club Ride – Saturday 13th August

This weeks club ride as follows:

Meet at 0850 for 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst

Out via Sway Road, Setthorns and towards Burley. Turn right at White Buck and head down Mill Lane. End of Mill Lane left then right onto Forest Road. Then familiar route down Crow Hill and right turn into Crow Lane by the farmshop. Up to the Elm Tree and turn right, left along the A31 slip road and then cross the road towards Poulner.
Past the Alice Lisle, turn right towards Red Shoot. Left turn across the Ocknells Plain airfield. Down Bramble Hill, cross road at Bramsham and then right turn into Furzey Road towards Newbridge.
Through Bartley, Woodlands, Ashusrst, Colbury and in Beaulieu turn right towards Hill Top. Turn right at Hill Top and take Rollestone Road not Exbury Road. Down to Blackfield, Langley and then left turn towards Calshot along Stanswood Road. Chance then to try the café at Cashot which should be open by then and there might be some views of the last day of Cowes Week to enjoy. That should be at the 80K mark.
Return via Lepe, Beaulieu, Hatchet Pond, Balmer Lawn.

Total distance 107K

I won’t be riding this week as I’m off doing an MTB event. So have a good ride and is possible load route onto your various devices as there are a couple of less familiar roads in this weeks route.

Enjoy and see you next week

Club Ride – Saturday 6th August

This weeks club as follows:
Shorter ride this week but plenty of opportunities to tag some extra miles on for those that wish as weather forecast looks excellent.
Back to 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.
Out via Rhinefield, Bolderwood, take the right turn and the loop round Ogdens to Hyde. Back down Frogham Hill to Stuckton and through Fordingbridge and up to Whitsbury. Back down via Rockbourne, Sandleheath, Alderholt, Harbridge and then the well used route back to Brock via Crow, Braggers Hill and Burley.
Best option for coffee stop probably Burley before everybody starts peeling off.
I wont be out this week so have a good ride.
