Have just checked the weather forecast for later today and looks like rain from 1600 onwards. Rain after a dry spell could mean slippery roads so probably best not to run chain gang tonight.

Plan to resume Thursday 7th Sept and for September we'll move to 1830 start.

Club Ride – Saturday 26th August

This weeks club ride will be a bit of an out and back ride to Stockbridge. Meet at 0850 for 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.

Out via Rhinefield, Bolderwood, Ocknells Plain, Nomansland and head north out of the forest. Thinking that the usual coffee stop in Stockbridge may be a bit busy as there will be extra traffic going through Stockbridge for the Car Fest event so thinking about making the coffee stop at the Leckford Estate Farm Shop and Café which will be about 64Km in. There is another garden centre just south of Stockbridge on our route which I think Phil G has recommended so that’s another alternative.

Then return via our well used route via Houghton, Mottisfont, Shootash, Awbridge, Wellow and back into the forest via Bramble Hill and across Ocknells Plain again and back down Bolderwood to Brock for a total of 114Km. Pace likely to be around 28KMh.

Weather fair tonight. So normal chain gang. 1845 start form outside St Saviours Church, Burley Road, Brockenhurst.

Club Ride – Saturday 19th August

This weeks club ride will be another two lap one to accommodate those wanting medium / long ride options.

Usual meet at 0850 for 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.

Lap 1 out via Rhinefield, Bolderwood, Ocknells Plain, Bramble Hill, Hamptworth, Lover, Woodgreen. Back via Fordingbridge, Frogham, Red Shoot, Bolderwood and back to Brock.

This weeks coffee stop after 80Km will be in Brockenhurst, Julie’s been baking so should be plenty of cake on offer.

Then second lap back over Bolderwood for another 40-50Km for those wanting a long ride.

Forecast looks good so look forward to a good turnout for those who aren’t on holiday.

Thursday Night Chain Gang - 17th August

Usual plan tonight, depart from outside St Saviours Church in Burley Road, Brockenhurst at 1845.

Club Ride – Saturday 12th August

This weeks club ride will take us out of the forest for a while as it will no doubt be another busy weeks on the local roads.

Usual meet at 0850 for 0900 depart in the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.

Ride will be a two lap affair, lap 1 100K and an additional 35-50K loop back over Bolderwood (depending on where we turn round) for those wanting a longer ride and a few more hills.

Lap 1, out via Ornamental Drive, Bolderwood, Moyles Court, Harbidge, Alderholt, Sandleheath, Rockbourne, Coombe Bissset, Broad Chalke (possible extra coffee stop at the Community Shop. Back via Martin, Fordingbridge, Mockbeggar and then to Café Velo in Ringwood. Finish via Burley, Lyndhurst Road, A35 then the 100K option back to Brock along Rhinefield Road and the longer ride back over Bolderwood and hopefully not getting stuck behind all the traffic we had last week.
