Club Ride – Change to Saturday 31st March

Note, changed to Saturday due to weather forecast

May also add stop at Broad Chalke as the community Shop will be open

As has become our norm in recent years, Good Friday will be a century ride to Shaftsbury. Riding Friday gives those that are riding the TT on Sunday time to recover or time for another long ride over the weekend.

Provisional plan will be an 0830 depart from Brockenhurst. Approx 100Km to Cranbourne via Shaftsbury and a lunch stop at the garden centre. Then a further 65Km back to the start with a couple of optional short cuts or routes home for those that had a long ride to the start.

If anybody plans to meet en route please feel free to do so. Pace will be a little slower than a normal Saturday ride to reflect the extra distance and suit the needs of the majority of riders.

Club Ride – Saturday 24th March

Few of the regular Saturday riders are doing the Dorset Coast 200 on Sunday (good luck) so plan this week is for a two lap ride to enable those riding Sunday to have a shorter ride on Saturday.

Meet as the usual point in the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst at 0850 for an 0900 depart. Lap 1 out via Ten Bends to Burley, Braggers, Crow, Poulner, Red Shoot and Bolderwood back to Brockenhurst for a 50Km loop. Mid ride coffee stop in Brock where Julie will be doing a small bake for Sport Relief so anybody that wishes to donate to Sport Relief can.

Lap 2 out via Balmer Lawn, Beaulieu, Ipley Cross, Ashurst, Woodlands, Bartley, Newbridge, Furzey, Bramble Hill and back to Brock for a second time via Bolderwood for 107Km total.

All welcome to ride 1 or two laps

Club Ride – Saturday 17th March

Once again, the weather has conspired against us on a Saturday. So this week plan to get out the mountain bikes and head off road. Meeting point will be the Canadian War Memorial at the top of Bolderwood and we’ll do a number of off road loops to Acres Down, Burley, Shobley etc. Meet at 0850 for an 0900 depart. Probably about 3 hours but we’ll keep returning to the Canadian War Memorial so riders can do as many loops as they want.
Afterwards, if anybody wants return to my place for some soup and watch Milan San Remo they’re welcome. I’ll take a car to the start so if you are riding to the start you can chuck washbag / change of clothes into my car and shower and change before the race. If you do want to do this, please let me know via barry.wootten@gmail.com and I can let Julie know how much soup to make.
