NFCC Sunday Club ride 02/09/2018

Posting early this week as Phil will be away in Italy until monday. On that note If any of the clubs other gnarled veterans could make it this week to lead the ride or to take any newcomers through the safety drill that would be appreciated.

Meet at main car park in Brookley Rd, Brockenhurst (Opposite the Tesco Express) 8.50 a.m for a 9.00 a.m start.

This week’s route heads up Rhinefield to the climb at Bolderwood then turns downhill towards Emery Down. We pass through Minstead towards Bartley. Passing through Woodlands to Ashurst. From here we take Deerlepe lane through Ipley Cross to Beaulieu. We return on Beaulieu rd via Hatchett pond.

The weather forecast really is excellent. Hope for a good turnout.

NFCC Sunday Club ride - 26th August

Meet at main car park in Brookley Rd, Brockenhurst (Opposite the Tesco Express) 8.50 a.m for a 9.00 a.m start.

As it is a bank holiday weekend and the New Forest 'Ratter' this weekend the plan is, to as far as possible avoid the worst of the traffic with a 54K ride out to Lepe.

This week the plan is to head out on the Beaulieu Rd to Hatchet pond, turn south for a loop passing through East Boldre before returning to pass through Beaulieu. We head up Palace lane before turning right onto Exbury lane and towards Lepe, form here through Langley and Blackfield before heading back towards Beaulieu along Rollestone Rd. Returning to Brock on the Beaulieu rd.

Weather forecast is excellent again, hopefully it will be more accurate this week than last.
I hope to see another good turnout.

Sunday Club Ride - 19th August.

Meet at main car park in Brookley Rd, Brockenhurst (Opposite the Tesco Express) 8.50 a.m for a 9.00 a.m start.

This week the plan is to ride the classic route (see below) out of Brockenhurst along Rhinefield Drive, up Bolderwood and then down past Linwood to High Wood lane, through Poulner and along Ringwood lane. From there we turn up Braggers lane before heading to Burley. From Burley we enter Station rd, go up Wilverley rise and down back into into Brockenhurst to complete the 50K. Brockenhurst has several tempting cafe's to choose from upon completion of the route.

The intention is to maintain a pace that is comfortable for newcomers and slower paced riders and to offer an introduction to group riding for potential new members.

The club have asked me to hold emergency contact numbers for participating riders so if you hope to come along please email me those details at phil_harris1@btinternet.com

On the subject of safety, Riders are expected to wear helmets on club rides and their bikes should be in good working order. Tri-bars are not allowed.

The weather forecast for Sunday is excellent, I hope to see you there.

Thursday Night Chain Gang - 2nd August.

Please remember that from tonight and until end of August start time is 1845. Then in September it will revert to 1830. Please make sure you've got at least a flashing rear light as the low sun is making cyclists hard to see for motorists heading towards the sun at the time we're out.
