Club Ride – Saturday 29th September

Weather forecast looks good so plan on doing the route we had previously planned for last week. This weeks club ride will be a loop of the Isle of Wight. Plan to get the 0840 ferry from Yarmouth. We will mainly follow the marked route either clockwise or anti clockwise depending on how the winds looking and probably add a bit extra and go up to The Needles. There will be probably be one coffee stop along the way and then another in Yarmouth at the end. Probably returning on the 1505 or 1605 ferry.

Club Ride – Saturday 22ndSeptember

I keep seeing different weather forecasts for Saturday but have taken the safe option to postpone the IOW ride until next week and keep this weeks ride shortish and close to home so that we have flexibility if heavy rain or winds prove disruptive.
Usual meet at 0850 for an 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Out via Ten Bends to Burley, Crow, Poulner and return to Brock via Red Shoot and Bolderwood for the first loop of 45Km. Then out again via Sway, Pennington and Lymington and coffee stop at Mabel’s CafĂ© in Shallowmead Garden Centre near Boldre.
Then assuming weather is OK another loop around Pilley, Norleywood, Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu and Brock for an 80Km ride and hopefully home before the heavy rain that’s forecast. Those that wish can add another loop after that if desired.

NFCC Sunday Club Ride 16/09/2018

Meet as usual in the car park on Brookley road in Brockenhurst at 8.50 for a 9.00 A.M start.

This week, in an attempt to avoid the wiggle sportive, we will reverse one of our regular routes as below:

Head west along the Beaulieu rd to Hatchett pond, from here past Beaulieu on Hatchett Lane until we turn right onto North Lane. Continue past Ipley Cross to Deerleap Lane and up to Colbury. Go down the hill through Ashurst before passing through woodlands, Bartley to the A337. Follow the apparently nameless rd to Minstead and then Emery Down. From here we track up Bolderwood west side and back down to the A35. Cross the A35 before heading back into Brock on the Rhinefield Rd. Coffee in one of Brockenhurst's numerous cafe's.

Phil H is away this weekend and for the following two weeks so if any of the clubs members who are experienced in group riding would like to step into the breach then that would be appreciated.

Route can be downloaded below.

Club Ride – Saturday 15th September

As there is a Wiggle ride this weekend we’ll do our best to keep out of their way. So, plan for Saturday is as follows:
Meet at 0850 for an 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Out via Balmer Lawn, Hatchet Pond, Beaulieu, Ipley Cross, Ashurst, Woodlands, Bartley, Copythorne, Landford, Redlynch, Woodgreen, Godshill, Stuckton and onto Hockey’s for a coffee stop after around 60Km.
Then back via Red Shoot, Bolderwood and return to Brock for just over 80Km. Then the mileage monsters can hatch plans for a second loop. The Wiggle rides are not using Lepe / Calshot areas so that looks favourite.

NFCC Sunday Club Ride - Sept 9th

*Change of meeting point

An early 'heads up' about this week’s Sunday club ride.

The new forest marathon is taking place around Brockenhurst on Sunday so we are best avoiding the area. For this week only we will meet in the car park at Hatchet Pond at the usual time of 8.50 a.m for a 9.00 a.m start.

The route will take us south through east Boldre before heading east to St Leonards then up past Bucklers hard towards Beaulieu. After passing though Beaulieu we drop down to Lepe, do a circuit at Calshott before heading up to Blackfield and then back to Beaulieu. We can take our cafe stop in Beaulieu before heading home or back to the start at Hatchett Pond.

The route is 48K long, the weather forecast is as always excellent and I hope to see a good turnout.

Route can be downloaded here.

Cheers
Phil
