Club Ride – Saturday 19th January

Not a great weather forecast for this Saturday so plan to keep the ride close to home in case we need to make changes during the ride. No obvious risk of ice / frost so usual 0850 meet for 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Please have lights and if possible something hi-vis on as visibility probably not the best on Saturday.
Out via Balmer Lawn to Hatchet Pond. Loop around East Boldre, Sowley, Bucklers Hard to Bealieu. Second loop around Hill Top, Exbury, Lepe, Blackfield, Exbury, Beaulieu. Back through East Boldre, Norleywood, Pilley and drop into Mabels Café in Shallowmead Nursery for coffee. Should be plenty of room inside if its cold and wet. Finish by another loop around Sway, Burley, Lyndhurst Road, Ornamental Drive and back to Brock fior a total of 93Km but plenty of opportunities to cut the ride short for anybody that wants a shorter ride.
Pace will be kept steady, not a day for anybody to be getting hot and sweaty.

NFCC Sunday Club Ride 13tth January 2019

Oooh New Route. John has suggested a new one to add to our list of Sunday regulars so we will try it out this week and if it all go's wrong you know who to blame.
Meet at main car park in Brookley Rd, Brockenhurst (Opposite the Tesco Express) 8.50 a.m for a 9.00 a.m start.
The first part will be familiar to chain-gang regulars, we go up Rhinefield to the A35, turn left then take care when taking the right turn towards Burley. Before reaching the fleshpots of Burley we turn right onto Forest road then onto Moortown lane. Follow this rd until we arrive at Charles's lane and if it's o.k with him proceed to Ringwood Rd where we head south. Next we turn right onto Harpway lane, then east along Bockhampton and Harrow Rd. Then head north on one of the many imaginatively titled 'Forest rds' before joining the familiar Burley and Pound lane. From Burley it's back on the Chain-gang route into Brock to complete the 49K-ish route.
Forecast is o.k so look forward to seeing another good turnout.
