Club Ride – Saturday 27th April – Off Road

Forecast for Saturday is for very high winds so the planned ride to Shaftsbury will be deferred as the conditions are not suitable for road based peloton riding. So this week it will be an off road ride keeping as much as possible to the marked cycle paths around the forest.
Usual meet at 0850 for an 0900 depart from main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.
We’ll head out towards Sway and then onto the old railway towards Wootton Bridge and pick up anybody that’s starting from down that way.
I’ve marked out a rough 80Km route as per the link below but there may be a few changes on the day if people know better paths and for diversions for coffee.

Thursday Night Chain Gang – 25th April

Apologies for the late notice but not Chain Gang tonight as there’s an inter club TT on. My fault I didn’t check the clubs event page (thanks Phil for pointing it out)
Normal service resumes next week but as it’s May start time will be 1845

NFCC Sunday Club ride. 21st April 2019

As it is Easter weekend and roads will be busier than usual the plan is to do the quieter south/eastern loops of the forest.
Meet at main car park in Brookley Rd, Brockenhurst (Opposite the Tesco Express) 8.50 a.m for a 9.00 a.m start.
This week the plan is to head out on the Beaulieu Rd to Hatchet pond, turn south for a loop passing through East Boldre before returning to pass through Beaulieu. We head up Palace lane before turning right onto Exbury lane and towards Lepe, from here through Langley and Blackfield before heading back towards Beaulieu along Rollestone Rd. Returning to Brock on the Beaulieu rd.
I think I'm going to be hiding easter eggs from children etc on Sunday so am unlikely to make it this week. Route is probably now familiar to regulars but always good if someone has it uploaded.
Current forecast for Sunday is very lovely so enjoy.

Club Ride – Saturday 20h April

As we often do on Bank Holidays we’ll take the club ride around East Boldre and Lepe for the main part where the roads are usually a little quieter.

Out via Balmer Lawn, then at Hatchet Pond we’ll take a look around East Bolder, Sowley and back to Beaulieu. Then a loop around Exbury and Lepe and back to Burley. Onto Norleywood and Pilley and onto the coffee stop at Mabel’s in Boldre at around 65Km. Then those wanting a shorter ride can head back or those that wish continue onto Sway, Burley, Poulner and a final loop around Ogdens, North Gorley and back to Brock via Red Shoot and Bolderwood for around 123Km.
Pace circa 27Km but will depend who’s out
