Sunday Club Ride 28th July 2019

Ooh, new course.
Thought we would try a slightly longer (58K) and different course this week as we are promised good weather and the Sunday regulars are getting a bit bored with the familiar routes.
Meet as usual at 8.50a.m for a 9.00a.m start in the car park at Brookley Rd, Brockenhurst.
Out via Rhinefield and Bolderwood, past the Canadian war memorial before taking a right turn onto Ocknell Plain (the old airfield). We then take a left onto the Forest rd before forking left, crossing Roger Penny Way and practicing our descending skills down Pipers Wait to Nomansland.
We'll take the next left down Shorts hill to Lyburn rd where we stuff our pockets with the fine cheeses on offer at the farm shop before reaching and trning left on Hamptworth rd. Left up Vicarage rd, School lane then the mysteriously named Loosehanger. Reaching the B3080 we head towards the Forest rd and back via Ocknell, Bolderwood and Rhinefield to Brockenhurst for a well earned knees-up at The Terrace where a consistent level of service is always guaranteed.

Look forward to seeing a good turnout
p.s we must keep an eye on the pace so that it doesn't creep up ad frighten newcomers off.

Sunday Club Ride 21st July 2019

Meet as usual at the main car park in Brookley Rd, Brockenhurst 8.50 a.m for a 9.00 a.m start.
This weeks route meanders along the familiar terrain of Rhinefield Rd before crossing the A35 to begin the ascent of Col de Bolderwood. We then take a right turn downhill towards Emery Down and the New Inn in which of course the captain of the Titanic, Edward Smith, spent his final night on British shores before he set sail on the ill-fated ship the next day.
On that uplifting note we go onwards through the Palaeolithic village of Minstead before crossing the enchanting A337 towards the historically moribund village of Bartley, through Woodlands to Ashurst. From here we take Deerlepe lane and If we survive Ipley Cross should reach the pleasant hotbed of feudalism that is Beaulieu (Thanks Aleksandra Burlinson) Returning to Brock via Hatchet pond,
I am back from my travels but don't let that put you off, the current forecast is very nice so I hope to see a good turnout.
download the route here.

Club ride – Saturday 20th July

This week will be a “shorter” 90km loop within the forest in view of the weather forecast.
