NFCC Sunday Club ride. 25th August 2019

With hangovers finally clearing after last weeks anniversary celebrations the plan this week is to head out on the Beaulieu Rd to the leech infested waters of Hatchet pond, before turning south to pass through East Boldre. The residents of this 'straggling hamlet' were described in a parliamentary report in 1834 as "for the most part smugglers and deer-stealers" Trying not to be judgemental we head east of Norleywood through St Leonards before returning north to the safety of the main rd. We pass up through Beaulieu via Palace lane before turning right onto Exbury lane and towards Lepe, from here through Langley and Blackfield before heading back towards Beaulieu along Rollestone Rd. We return as so often praying for a little assistance from the wind-gods along the Beaulieu rd.
Forecast is excellent as always so I hope to see another great turnout.
p/s I have slightly amended the official route to reflect the direction that we usually end up using.

1st Anniversary Sunday Club Ride - 18th August 2019

The Sunday rides have been going for a whole year this weekend. Thanks to all of you who have attended and made it a moderate success.
Annoyingly I have a wedding to attend so will be unable to join in with the no doubt high levels of excited revelry.
Meet at main car park in Brookley Rd, Brockenhurst 8.50 a.m for a 9.00 a.m start.
This week the plan is to ride out of Brockenhurst along Rhinefield Drive, up Bolderwood and then down past Linwood to High Wood lane, through Poulner and along Ringwood lane. From there we turn up Braggers lane before heading to Burley. From Burley we enter Station rd, go up Wilverley rise and down back into into Brockenhurst to complete the 50K route.
Forecast is quite pleasant so have fun..
Course is downloadable here.

Sunday Club Ride 11th August 2019

Meet at main car park in Brookley Rd, Brockenhurst 8.50 a.m for a 9.00 a.m start.
This week’s ride heads west out of Brock via Burley rd then turns left down to the B3055. Turn right before taking the left turn along Pitmore lane. Follow Pitmore down to Sway Rd to meet the A337. After a brief and joyless ride north we exit the road of doom with a right turn up Boldre lane to Boldre. According to Wikipedia Boldre boasts a pub and used to have a school and a post office, 'the post box can still be seen today' which should make the odyssey feel all thee more worthwhile. Onwards to Pilley and then Norleywood then North to East Boldre, South to St Leonards before heading North once more towards Beaulieu. From here we hope for a rare tailwind along Beaulieu rd back into Brockenhurst.
After a couple of days of dismal weather I have been assured personally by Tomasz Schafernaker that the forecast is set fair so hope to see a good turnout.
Details of the route are downloadable here;

NFCC Sunday Club Ride. 4th August 2019

NFCC Sunday Club Ride. 4th August 2019
Meet at main car park in Brookley Rd, Brockenhurst (Opposite the Tesco Express) 8.50 a.m for a 9.00 a.m start.
It's supercar weekend at Beaulieu, Supercars tend to = bad and aggressive driving so we will be avoiding that area like a Morris dancers convention in Stoke.
We leave via Rhinefield up to the A35, turn left and then take care when taking the right turn towards Burley. Before reaching the fleshpots of Burley we turn right onto Forest road then onto Moortown lane. Follow this rd until we arrive at Charles's lane and if it's o.k with him proceed to Ringwood Rd where we head south. Next we turn right onto Harpway Lane, then east along Bockhampton and Harrow Rd. Then head north on one of the many imaginatively titled 'Forest Roads' before joining the familiar Burley and Pound lane. From Burley it's back to Brock via the spirit-crushing hill at Wilverley to complete the 49K-ish route.
I'm away visiting chums up North this weekend and we might also be one or two riders short due to Ride London so if someone could take on the burden of uploading the route that would be great.
Forecast is top drawer so hopefully another double-figure week. attendance-wise Route downloadable here
