Club Ride 26th August 2023

Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. After our recent adventures outside of the forest this week’s club ride is a local one. I’ve tried to keep the route to the roads that are quieter as it’s a bank holiday weekend so expect more traffic than usual. There are also showers forecast for late on Saturday, so route does give chance of a replan of the latter part of the ride. Planned ride is 133Km with a planned coffee stop at the Community Shop in Minstead at 77Km.

Club Ride 19th August 2023

After last week’s mistaken prophecy about the weather forecast your hapless ride leader is once again making wild assumptions that the weather will be fine, and that it is safe and wise to venture further afield. So, with wild and probably misplaced optimism this week we will head north to Longstock and hopefully avoid the inevitable traffic in the New Forest as much as possible.

Usual meet at 0850 for an 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Please arrive in good time as it helps with sorting out composition of each group.

We’ll take in a route heading east to Beaulieu before heading north. Coffee stop will be at the Waitrose Garden Centre, use the Cherry Tree CafĂ© (the one in the garden) as it’s better for bike parking.

It will be a hilly one so remember to bring your climbing legs!

Club Ride 12th August 2023

At last, a decent(ish) weather forecast for a Saturday and a chance to go slightly further afield.

This week’s club ride will be a 139Km ride to the north taking in the Chalke Valley.

Coffee stop planned for the ever popular Chalke Valley Community Shop at around 60Km. Option to top up food and liquid at the Alderholt Coop on the return leg.

Sunday Club Ride 6th August 2023

Meet as usual in Brookley Rd Carp park at 8.50 A.M for a 9.)00 A.M start.

Forecast is pretty good considering the potential tempest on Saturday and I have arranged the traditional tailwind ending so hope to see another great turnout.

Club Ride 5TH August 2023

Apologies all but the Saturday weather gods are still playing havoc with the club ride. There are high winds forecast for Saturday which make it unsafe for a peloton style ride so at the time of writing (Thursday) there is no club ride planned.

If the forecast improves a little there may be an opportunity for a gravel ride so keep checking the usual channels, club website under the Events tab, Barry’s blog, members Facebook and Strava pages for any last minute plans.
