With a decent forecast it gives us the opportunity to venture further afield for a change. So, this week’s club ride takes us out of the forecast to one of our frequently used summer routes to Broad Chalke.
Route is 113Km and can be found here:
https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2504920?units=km
Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.
Coffee stop at 55Km at the Community Café in Broad Chalke.

Woohoo, after what seems like an age a club ride planned without a weather warning for ice / wind / rain etc. So, plan this week is for a lumpy 110Km route around the forest. Coffee stop planned at 57Km at The Potting Shed in Hyde.
Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Please make every to get to the start in good time, it is most unhelpful when we try and sort out groups when riders turn up at 0859 and expect everything to revolve around them.
Route at https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2497810?units=km
Expect the roads to be rough after the recent weather so extras care required as there will be new potholes and road deformation to watch out for.
Hope to see a good turn out and a return of some of our fair-weather colleagues who can expect no end of abuse from those who have been braving the elements over the last few weeks.

Sorry for the late call. With 6C forecast I was confident that a club road was viable. However, there is ice that hasn’t thawed and it’s already icy in Brockenhurst. Therefore I am not confident that everywhere will have thawed so with great reluctance this week’s ride is cancelled.

Another very cold day for this week’s club ride so plan for a steady 105KM trip round the forest as we gradually increase the distance over the winter months. Have made the route so we can cut short on the second loop around Burley should it be too inclement. After the last two weeks of coffee stop mutineers, I have abandoned any thoughts of a non-stop ride and plan to stop at Steff’s Kitchen at around 61KM where hopefully there will be space below the patio heaters.
Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Please make every to get to the start in good time, it is most unhelpful when we try and sort out groups when riders turn up at 0859 and expect everything to revolve around them.

The weather forecast has some high winds forecast for Sunday so please keep watching the club’s postings for any last-minute change of plans should the weather forecast deteriorate.
The temperatures forecast and the dry weather mitigate the risk of ice but if anybody sees any local conditions that make a ride unwise, please let me know.

Meet as usual in Brookley Rd car park at 8.50 for a 9.00 a.m start.
Another very cold day for this week’s club ride so plan for a steady 97Km loop of the forest. Planning a non-stop ride to avoid riders getting cold but there is an option to grab a coffee and a spot under the heaters at Steff’s in Beaulieu at around the 3-hour mark if there are more coffee stop mutineers this week. Otherwise, coffee in Brock for those that plan on adding more mileage.
Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Expect the roads to be in a rough state from the recent weather so extra care looking out for new potholes, debris etc required.

Slight change of route as the Crow to Bransgore road is a bit underwater so diversion to higher ground. So please download again.

Forecast for a cold and dry day for this week’s club ride. As is usual for January rides will be a bit shorter and a bit steadier to get everyone back into the swing.
Meet at 0850 for an 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Roads will still be filthy so mudguards please to show some respect for your fellow riders.
Planned route is a non-stop 81Km ride to the north of the forest (about 3 hours). As it’s going to be cold not planning to stop and just keep the pace steady to keep everyone warm. Optional coffee stop at ride end in Brock where those that want a longer ride can plan another loop.
