Club Rides - Saturday 17th May

Choice of rides this Saturday as follows:

All rides start at the main car park in Brockenhurst (opposite Tesco) at 0900

Can I please ask the regular riders to be prepared to lead and pace the rides as we welcome more new riders to the expanded Saturday rides. Volunteers are always welcome.

A ride
67 miles, 18MPH average, Stockbridge / Dean Hill

Approx meeting times en route: Bolderwood, 0925, Roger Penney Way / Bramble Hill 0945

Coffee stop in Stockbridge

B and C rides slightly longer than usual but with the option of a coffee stop at Lepe.
42 miles, B pace 15/16MPH, C pace 13/14 MPH

As an alternative we have some visitors to the forest from Horsham cycling club, they’re staying at the Lyndhurst Park Hotel and they will be heading out for a 50 mile ride on Saturday at 1330.

On Sunday they will be riding a 42 mile loop http://connect.garmin.com/course/6532396 on Sunday morning. Both rides will run at a pace similar to our B rides so 15/16 MPH.

If anybody fancies joining their rides and helping to guide visitors round the forest please let me know and I’ll put you in touch with their ride leader.

Hope to see a good turnout this weekend on whatever ride suits you.

Regards

Club Rides - Saturday 3rd May

Changes to the summer programme from this week onwards. There have been a number of requests for some more moderately paced Saturday rides so we’re going to put on 3 rides each Saturday and see if that proves popular enough to continue. All the rides will start from the main car park, Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. It’s the car park opposite Tesco. Plenty of free parking around Brock on Saturdays so no need to pay in the main car park.

The three rides will all start at 0900, so please be there for 0850 for ride briefing and to ensure that we get the right riders in the right groups.

The existing Saturday ride will now be the A ride and will run an approximately 18MPH average. Coffee stop after about 40 miles at Burley.
This will be a loop that takes in the north of the forest, route details can be found at:

The other two rides will follow the same 37 mile route taking in Bolderwood, Frogham and a coffee stop at either Crow or Burley on the way back.

The B ride will be at an average of 15-16MPH and have an option to add an additional 15 mile loop around Rhinefield, Burley, Wilverley and Brockenhurst for those wanting to go long without the A ride pace.

The C ride will run at an average 14-15 MPH depending on those riding and in any case will run at a pace to suit all the riders out not just the strongest.

Hope to see a good turnout for the summer rides.
