Club Rides Saturday 17th June

This week we’ll have two rides. Neil has kindly planned a century ride around the Purbecks for those wanting a long ride with a lunch stop and over 2000M of climbing.

As it will be a long day the depart will be 0830 from the usual meeting point in the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. We will have a second rendezvous at Burley cricket club. We should pass Burley just after 0850 so please be there at 0845 if you want to join there.

Pace a little slower than recent group rides so I’d expect an average of around 26-27KmH based on the amount of climbing

Make sure you’ve got money for lunch and the Sandbanks Ferry. Lunch stop will be after about 88Km when we get to Lulworth.

For those wanting a shorter ride suggest using one of our winter routes for a loop around the forest

Meet at the main car park in Brookley Road Brockenhurst at 0850 for 0900 depart.

Out via Rhinefield, Bolderwood, cross the airfield at Ocknells Plain, Bramble Hill, Furzey, Newbridge, Bartley, Woodland, Ashurst, Colbury, Ipley Cross and Beaulieu.

Optional coffee stop at Steff’s Kitchen in Beaulieu or at the end in Brockenhurst.

Finish ride via Bucklers Hard, Norleywood, Pilley.

Club Ride – Saturday 10th June

Forecast for Saturday is good so plan to head north to Broad Chalke and return. It will probably be a head wind coming back so keep a bit in the tank for the second half of the ride.

Usual meet at 0850 for 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.

Out via Rhinefield, Bolderwood, Moyles Court, Fordingbridge and along the Chalke Valley for mid ride coffee stop at the Community Shop in Broad Chalke just after 50Km.

Return via Martin, Sandleheath, Alderholt, Harbridge and back over Red Shoot to Brock. Total distance just over 100Km but a good amount of climbing and the opportunity to throw in a couple of bonus hills if everybody wants a bit more distance and climbing.

I’ll probably do another loop back over Bolderwood / Moyles Court afterwards for another 50K if anybody’s interested.

Pace 27-28Kmh average

Club Ride – Saturday 3rd June

This week we’ll head north for a 120Km ride to the Wallops and back.

Meet at 0850 for 0900 depart at the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst as usual.

Route out via Bolderwood, Emery Down, Bartley, Furzey and then our usual route north to Stockbridge and onto the Museum of Army Flying at Over Wallop for coffee at 60Km. If Dave S is riding this week can we please make sure we don’t lose him at this point as these army bases are extremely difficult to spot with their camouflage and when you have no prior knowledge of what an army base looks like.

60K return via Winterslow, Whiteaparish, Nomansland, Bolderwood etc.

Pace 28KmH or thereabouts
