Club Ride – Saturday 12th August

This weeks club ride will take us out of the forest for a while as it will no doubt be another busy weeks on the local roads.

Usual meet at 0850 for 0900 depart in the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.

Ride will be a two lap affair, lap 1 100K and an additional 35-50K loop back over Bolderwood (depending on where we turn round) for those wanting a longer ride and a few more hills.

Lap 1, out via Ornamental Drive, Bolderwood, Moyles Court, Harbidge, Alderholt, Sandleheath, Rockbourne, Coombe Bissset, Broad Chalke (possible extra coffee stop at the Community Shop. Back via Martin, Fordingbridge, Mockbeggar and then to Café Velo in Ringwood. Finish via Burley, Lyndhurst Road, A35 then the 100K option back to Brock along Rhinefield Road and the longer ride back over Bolderwood and hopefully not getting stuck behind all the traffic we had last week.

Thursday Night Chain Gang - 10th August

Bad weather due to clear so should be OK for chain gang. So usual plan, depart at 1845 (special note to Phil Grant 1845 not 1900, just goes to show that fast 300Km rides ruin the brain!) from outside St Saviours Church in Burley Road, Brockenhurst.

Speed / groups will vary depending on who turns up, 2 weeks ago we had 12 and it fragmented into 2 groups about half way round, last week we had 4 and it ended up as a team TT.

This weeks ride will be as follows:

Meet at 0850 for 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst

Lap 1 is a 68Km loop, out via Rhinefield Road, Bolderwood, Emery Down, Minstead, Bartley, Colbury, Beaulieu, East Boldre, Lymington and back to Rosie Lea’s at Setley Ridge for coffee.

Lap 2 back to Brockenhurst and up to Bolderwood, Moyles Court and around Ogdens, Hyde and back to Brock via Bolderwood for 120Km

Pace likely to be 28-29KmH depending on who’s out
