Club Ride – Saturday 23rd September

Looks like we’re in for some decent later summer weather this week. This weeks plan as follows:

Meet at 0850 for 0900 depart form the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.

Out via Rhinefield Road, Bolderwood,, Minstead, Bartley, Woodlands, Ashurst, Colbury, Ipley Cross, Beaulieu, East Boldre, Pilley, Burley and onto Café Velo in Ringwood after about 76Km. Then back via Poulner, Red Shoot, Bolderwood and Brock for just over 102Km.

Start to take the pace down a little now so probably about 28KmH this week and hopefully last week was our quota of punctures for the month.

Club Ride – Saturday 16th September

There’s a Wiggle ride on in the forest this weekend so plan to take the club ride out to the east to keep out of the way. Usual meet at 0850 for an 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.

Out via Balmer Lawn, Beaulieu, North Road, Ipley Cross, Applemore. Loop around Calshot and Lepe and back to Beaulieu for coffee at Steph’s Kitchen. Then Bucklers Hard, Lymington, Burley and back to Brock for 96Km. Option to divert over Bolderwood for an extra 30-40K on our usual extension for those wanting some extra distance and hills.

NFCC Club Ride – Saturday 9th September

The plan is for a 130km (81 mile) ride. We will be heading northwest to Compton Abbas. As usual meet at 0850 for 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.

Out via the Burley road to Wilverley, Burley, Crow, Poulner, Ibsley, Alderholt, Cranborne, Gussage All Saints, Ashmore, with a cafe stop at Compton Abbas Airfield (60km).

Return via a descent of Donhead Hollow to Ebbesbourne Wake, Ox Drove, Sixpenny Handley, Wimborne Saint Giles, Edmondsham, Harbridge, Linwood, Bolderwood to Brock.

I would advise on bringing a small lock for the cafe stop.

Pace of around 28Kmh. 

The forecast for Saturday morning looks good, although there's a chance of showers in the afternoon.

Club Ride – Saturday 2nd September

This weeks ride will take us out to Lepe and back around the south part of the forest.

Meet at 0850 for 0900 in the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst

Out via Balmer Lawn to Hatchet Pond then down to East Boldre, St Leonards and Bucklers Hard.  Then Beaulieu, Lepe, Dibden Purlieu, Applemore, Ipley Cross and back to Beaulieu for coffee at Steph’s Kitchen after 58Km. Then back via Norleywood, Pilley, Sway, Burley and return to Brock after 98Km.

There is also Jen Voight’s Shut Up Legs ride in the New Forest on Saturday, this ride should keep us out of the way of that ride.
