Club "A" ride - Saturday 6th June 2015

This weeks A ride is a 105 Km two loop ride around the forest with a refreshement stop courtesy of Phil Harris in celebration of his 50th birthday.

Depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst at 0900.

Ride out through Balmer Lawn to Hatchet Pond and then East Boldre, Pilley, Setthorns, White Buck, Bolderwood, Red Shoot, Ogdens, Blissford, Wood Green and then to Phil’s in Bramshaw at around 1200 and 82K.

Probable route back via Ocknells Plain and Bolderwood to Brock for 105K, target pace a little slower than last week (sorry) and try to keep to 28KMH.

Weather looks good so hope to see a good turnout.

  1. Hi Barry, Do you ever do any shorter rides for beginners ? Bought a road bike yesterday after taking part in my 1st ever duathlon last month and would like to start going out but have only done 25k which is not much in comparison to this.
    Thanks,
    Maria

  2. Hi Maria
Most weeks theres a shorter and slower ride that starts in Nomansland, meet 0920 for a 0930 start
Also theres a Sunday ride from Dibden Purlieu, check club website for details of that one.
You’re also welcome to join the “A” ride for a short period of time and then drop off when you’re tired, some people do this and build up from there. You can ride at the back of the pack which is a lot easier and just call out when you drop off.

If you’re doing duathlons also worth trying a few time trials to improve your bike leg.

Hope to see you out soon
