Club "B" Ride Saturday 29th August

Meet at The Lamb, Nomansland for 9am start. Probable route will be 

Pipers->Fritham->Airfield->Ornamental Drive->Brock->Beaulieu(->optional Lepe loop)->Hatchet Lane->Lyndhurst->Minstead->Bartley->Newbridge->Furzley->Nomansland

Aim for 15-16mph depending on how we are feeling and who turns up. 

Please could anyone who is planning on coming put a comment on the blog so I know to wait for them and not to vary the start time.

Club "A" Ride - Saturday 29th August

As its a Bank Holiday we’ll take the “A” ride out of the busy forest roads and head up to Stockbridge for a change. Route is 113Km so at a summer average pace of 28KMH should be a 4 hour ride excluding coffee stop

Brockenhurst, Beaulieu, Colbury, Ashurst, Woodlands, Calmore, Hillstreet then some uncharted roads to Stockbridge where we plan to stop and the Woodfire café after 60K so punctures permitting about 1115. If you have a Garmin please try and upload the route it does help when we’re using less familiar roads.

Meeting point is the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Meet at 0850 for 0900 depart and back in time to watch La Vuelta

So for those that are riding this weekend suggested plan is as follows:

Just over 100K with a target pace of 28KMH

Depart from the main car park in Brockenhurst opposite Tesco at 0900 so please aim to be at the start at 0850

Route will be out via the Burley Road, Setthorns, Sway, Pilley, East End, Sowley, Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu, Lepe, Blackfield, Debden Purlieu, Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst, Emery Down, Bolderwood, Burley and Brock

Although it looks like it’s going to clear up later theres a lot of standing water on the chain gang course at present so tonights chain gang is cancelled.

Club "A" Ride - Saturday 15th August

A ride is 63 miles at 18MPH with an option to add another 10 by making the return via Burley. Coffee stop will probably be after 45 miles in Beaulieu.

It’s basically a loop of the forest, Brockenhurst, Bolderwood, Moyles Court, Sandy Balls, Wood Green, Nomansland, Ashurst, Beaulieu, Bucklers Hard, Brock.

Club "B" Ride Saturday 8th August

Good news, the B ride is back (Thanks Bill and Oscar)

After our holidays, etc. we are finally back and will be riding tomorrow. The current (provisional) plan, given the good weather forecast, is to head to the seaside -

Meet at The Lamb, 9:50 for 10:00 start

Pipers->Fritham->Airfield->Bolderwood->Burley->Bransgore->Winton->Mudeford ... eat cake, breathe in sea air, etc ... ->Bransgore->Ringwood->Moyles Court->Red Shoot->Linwood->Airfield->Fritham->Nomansland

About 50 miles total. Given that sitting by a pool eating and drinking doesn't seem to be a very effective training regime, as well as the extended distance, we will be looking at a gentle one, probably more like 14-15 than the usual 15-16 so should be back by about 2pm.

As Adam and Jo are away, please could anyone who is thinking of joining put a comment on the blog

A Ride

100K loop departing from main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst 0900 Saturday. Please be at start for 0850.

Out via Ornamental Drive, Red Shoot, Harbridge, Alderholt, Sandleheath and then cross back into the forest via Wood Green. Loop around Roger Penney Way, Blissford Hill and then possible coffee stop at Hyde.  Then back via Ogdens, Red Shoot etc.
