As communicated via email, Facebook and Zoom this week, club rides are re-starting this weekend.
Please ensure that you are familiar with the guidance in the British Cycling “The Way Forward” document.
We will meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart as usual from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Please be there for 0850 for an additional safety briefing and so we can get into groups of 6 or fewer. Please ensure that you practice social distancing in the car park and under no circumstances get into any groups larger than 6.
I will try and get everybody into small groups that can ride together. Might be worth letting me know if you are feeling particularly rusty after the long lock down so that we can have Slow and Slower groupings.
As detailed on the Zoom call and in the PDF circulated, we cannot accommodate guests or non-members at this stage on the club rides so please don’t bring any along. Also, we will not under any circumstances pick up additional riders along the route and any riders that miss the start will not be permitted to join.
Sorry if this sounds a bit draconian but hopefully you all understand and are accustomed to living and working in this way at present.
We will use the familiar 55K route to the South East of the Forest as this is usually relatively quiet. It is planned that this will be at a comfortable pace and is as always on Sundays a strictly no-drop ride.
Please be familiar with the route which is at https://www.strava.com/routes/14885191
All riders will need to take turns at the front so if you can, learn the route and upload it to your Garmin.
Forecast as always on Sundays is good so I hope to see a good turnout.
