Club Ride - Saturday 24th January

Plan to use last weeks route for the cancelled ride for this weeks club ride:

Brockenhurst, Hincheslea, Setthorns, Sway War Memorial, Pitmore Lane, Pilley, East End, Sowley, Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu, North Road, Ipley X, Beaulieu Road Station, Lyndhurst, Emery Down, Minstead, Bartley, Woodlands, Colbury, Beaulieu, Hatchet Pond, Brock

Few chances to cut back to Brock for those wanting a shorted ride or if the weather turns nasty. If anybody sees a high risk of black ice tomorrow morning please send note to this alias and put a comment on the blog so that we can replan if sensible.

Apologies no GPX file as Garmin site having problems today

Usual plan for depart, Brockenhurst main car park in Brookley Road, 0850 for 0900 depart.

I won't be riding this week so please use your judgement on the weather before riding.

All welcome

Club Ride - Sunday 11th Jan NOT Saturday 10th

Given the forecast of high winds and heavy rain for Saturday I will again move the club ride to Sunday. If you can only get out Saturday the afternoon looks a better bet.

Plan this week will be to meet at the main car park in Brookley Road Brockenhurst for 0850 and a 0900 depart.

Route will be as follows:

Brockenhurst, Balmer Lawn Beaulieu, Hill Top, Exbury, Lepe, Calshot, Dibden Purlieu, Ipley Cross, Lyndhurst, Emery Down, Bolderwood, A35, Burley. Brock
That will be 50 miles and at a winter pace of 16MPH just over 3 hours

For those wanting a 30 mile route peel back to Brock from Hill Top and back via Hatchet Pond and Balmer Lawn

Plenty of chance for some through and off drills this week as we battle against the wind!

Club Ride 27th December

This weeks club ride will be a 50 mile loop of the forest that we used last week. Gives a couple of opportunities to shorten the route for those that want to and allows those in the north of the forest to join / leave at various points.

Depart from the car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst at 0900, please be there for 0850.

Route will be:
Brockenhurst, Bolderwood, Red Shoot, Gorley, Stuckton, Sandy Balls, then at the Fighting Cocks (optional short cut back via Ocknells Plain), Wood Green, Hale, Nomansland, Newbridge, Woodlands, Ashurst, Colbury, Beaulieu, Brockenhurst

Aiming for a 16MPH average so about 3 hours 15 if all goes to plan

I’ve picked up a small injury so won’t be riding. Hope to be back next week.

Club Ride - Saturday 13th December

Forecast is a bit dubious for this week with a risk of a frost so plan is to keep local and ride 1, 2 or 3 loops of 16-17 miles around Brockenhurst so riders can stay out as long as they wish

A ride 3 laps, B ride 2 laps

If the numbers for the B ride are low lap 1 will be at B ride pace

Lap 1

Car park, Brookley Road, Balmer Lawn, Hatchet Pond, East Boldre, Norleywood, Pilley, Shirley Holms, Sway War Memorial, Sway Road, Brockenhurst

17 miles

Lap 2

Brock, Rhinefield Road, A35, Lyndhurst Road, Burley Lawn, Mill Lane, White Buck, Wilverely, Brock

16 miles

Lap 3 (A ride)

Rhinefield Road, Bolderwood, Emery Down, Lyndhurst (optional short cut to Brock), Beaulieu, Hatchet Pond, Brock

27 miles

Or do lap 3 first then the B ride can finish and the A group go on for one or two more laps

For the A ride take pace down to 16MPH

Plenty of option for café stops in Brock / Beaulieu / Lyndhurst if weather turns nasty.

Depart 0900 sharp from main car park in Brookley Road Brock opposite Tesco. Please aim to be at the start for 0850.

Remember this week will have washed a lot of stone onto the roads so make sure your got 2 spare tubes.

Another fine but cold Saturday forecast so hopefully chance to enjoy a club ride and some good company from fellow clubmates.

This week, usual meet point in the car park opposite Tesco in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Meet 0850 for 0900 depart.

One route again this week with option to cut short for about 30 miles or do a second loop for 50.

Brockenhurst, Wilverley, Burley, Braggers, Crow, Poulner, Red Shoot, (optional 30 mile route via Ornamental Drive to Brock), Ocknells Plain, Fritham, Roger Penny Way, Blissford, North Gorley and back to Brock via Red Shoot and Bolderwood.

Target pace 16 MPH max

I won’t be riding this week due to family reasons so have a good ride

If turnout high split into two groups if pack is larger than 12-14
