After the last few weeks of freak weather on Thursdays and a couple of inter club TT’s we have a clear night for a chain gang. So, for the remainder of June and through to end of July start time will be 1900. Usual meeting point outside St Saviours Church, Burley Road, Brockenhurst.
All welcome. For those that haven’t ridden the chain gang before it is for all abilities. Any riders that get dropped usually form up into 2-ups or smaller groups and continue at a lower pace and all meet up again at the finish. Any riders that are stronger than the group will end up doing more turns on the front towards the end.
Meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.
Out via Rhinefield, Bolderwood, down to Emery Down and a lot of little roads around Minstead. Bartley, Bramshaw, across Ocknells Plain, Red Shoot, Poulner, Burley, Setthorns, Boldre. Then coffee stop at Mabel’s (in the garden centre that was popular a few weeks back). That will be at 77Km. Then those that want a shorter ride can peel off and those wanting a longer ride there will be an additional loop around East Boldre and that will make £108Km.
Looks like a decent forecast so this weeks club ride will be a longish trip out to the Chalke Valley. Meet at 0850 for an 0900 depart from the main car park un Brookley Road, Brockenhurst.
Out via Rhinefield, Bolderwood, Red Shoot, Fordingbridge. Up through Whitsbury and hopefully the resurfaced road will have bedded down by now. Then along the Chalke Valley to Broad Chalke. Then a bit further along the Chalke Valley and return via Tollard Royal, Sixpenny Handley, Cranbourne (for coffee at the garden centre (and birthday cake for Phil H). Then back to the forest via Alderholt, Red Shoot, Bolderwood and Brock for a total of 130Km
