The current Forecast for Sunday suggests the possibilty of strong winds, potentially too high for a group ride. Hopefully all will be fine but keep an eye on the forecast just in case. I have planned a tail wind for the return leg.

I plan to ride following my fun-filled bout of pneumonia and before I drag myself off for three weeks holiday. Hope to see a great turnout.

Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. As it was last week, it looks like there could be a lot of standing water in the forest this week and forecast of light rain for most of Saturday. So, it’s mudguards on please, drop the pace a little and start getting into winter riding mode.

Planned route is 104Km with an option to cut out the Nomansland loop out and reduce by 20Km if the weather turns out worse than the forecast. Route at:

Weather forecast at the moment is pretty good for Sunday but with bad weather all around it's worth keeping an eye on. Likely to be lots of standing water at a minimum so if you have mudguards. it's time to fit them (Note to self!).

Finally as Spike Milligan's tombstone says 'I told you I was ill'. Tests show that I have Pneumonia in both lungs so not entirely surprising that I haven't been feeling on top form. I'm not sure how long antibiotics take to kick in so I guess I'll be there or I won't.

Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Looks like there could be a lot of standing water in the forest this week and forecast of light rain on Saturday. So, it’s mudguards on please, drop the pace a little and start getting into winter riding mode. After last week’s hissy fits from some of the NFCC snowflakes it’s a flatter route round some of our local roads and I’ve been out and filled in every imperfection in the road surface for you. Route has been kept local to allow for some flexibility should the showers turn into anything worse. Planned route is 118Km and can be found here:

I’ll probably be missing this week due to a touch of manflu but hope to back next week.

Forecast is fine but very much colder than it has been in recent weeks so might be time to break out the winter gear.

I should be just about recovered enough from the plague to show my face again this weekend but don't let that put you off.

Usual meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. The pleasant autumn weather looks set to continue this week as plan to keep the rides long before the sadly inevitable worsening of riding conditions.

So, plan this week is for a trip out of the forest and along the Chalke Valley.

Looks like a good forecast so hoping to continue with longish Saturday rides for a bit before the time arrives when anybody rocking up for a club ride without mudguards gets beaten with hand pumps. This is a friendly notice to start thinking about winter rides and making sure you’re prepared!
