Club Ride – Saturday 4th July

As communicated via email, Facebook and Zoom this week, club rides are re-starting this weekend.
Please ensure that you are familiar with the guidance in the British Cycling “The Way Forward” document.
We will meet at 0850 for a 0900 depart as usual from the main car park in Brookley Road Brockenhurst. Please be there for 0850 for an additional safety briefing and so we can get into groups of 6 or fewer. Please ensure that you practice social distancing in the car park and under no circumstances get into any groups larger than 6.
Phil H and I will try and get everybody into small groups that can ride together.
As detailed on the Zoom call and in the PDF circulated, we cannot accommodate guests or non-members at this stage on the club rides so please don’t bring any along. Also, we will not under any circumstances pick up additional riders along the route and any riders that miss the start will not be permitted to join.
Sorry if this sounds a bit draconian but hopefully you all understand and are accustomed to living and working in this way at present.
The route will be 80Km over well used and hopefully quieter roads to the east of the forest. It is planned that this will be a comfortable 3 hour pace for the Saturday ride.
Please be familiar with the route which is at https://www.plotaroute.com/route/1189972?units=km
All riders will need to take turns at the front so learn the route, upload it to your Garmin or equivalent if you can.
Look forward to seeing everybody again, forecast doesn’t look too great at present but hopefully we’ll be done before the worst of the weather arrives.
Barry
